After spending less than 36 hours in the hospital my spartan came home. It is always nice to be in your own home, in your own chair (with your trusted buddy next to you). With that said…it was a rough first night. We got behind the pain and had a very hard time catching up. A few calls to the doctor, stronger meds and determination from Kelly got him through a difficult time. Nerve blocks are great…until they’re not.
Kelly is settled into his chair for the foreseeable future. 2-3 weeks with his leg elevated is on his agenda. Movement is fine and encouraged just not for extended periods of time. These are the times you realize just how little is on tv. Feel free to ask about the Hallmark Christmas movies. He is well versed in the “multiple” plot lines and all the different ways two people can fall in love in under 2 weeks 😉. I think Kelly is very glad there are good football games on today. Also, check out his hat – he’s supporting big brother Rick in his run for the state championship today with his Greenwood Bulldogs.
These past three weeks have taught us a lot about life, and friendship. The continual prayers, thoughts, texts, emails, cards and kindnesses have meant so very much. God’s blessings have been poured upon us through each of you who have taken the time to acknowledge our situation and help in your own special way. We simply cannot adequately thank each and every one of you.
My spartan is tough and will rise to this challenge…it is what he does. Each of you will just make it that much easier. May you be blessed by a God who loves us, cares for us and will always be with us.
Listen to His Voice,
Lee Ann
just a note…Kelly’s follow up appointment is December 13. That is when we expect to be released to begin physical therapy. I’ll be sure and let you know what the Dr. says
Thanks for keeping us informed. Love y’all.
I am so glad to see the update, thank you. Praying continuously for comfort, peace and comfort in a miraculous way. Take care of that calf forever, never get rid of him/her, it is a special calf used by God. Reminds me of the story in the Bible of Balem being saved by the donkey. All smiles big guy
Hey Kelly, don’t push but keep up all condoning you can. My thoughts and prayers are with you brother. God is with you in the storm.
We need your address…
He looks so good in his chair… tell him to try the game channel and then the travel channel…
so glad ya’ll are home…❤️
Lee Ann, thank you for keeping us informed. I’ll continue to pray for you guys. You are both truly blessed! Our God is way bigger than this, as you both no doubt know. I am sure Kelly’s can do attitude and Spartan spirit will be a powerful testimony and blessing to others as well as you guys make this journey. What the enemy meant for harm will be turned around to lift our mighty God, and you two.
Thanks Lee Ann for these updates which provide specifics for prayers. Your Spartan, my brother and friend, reminds me of the key life app of Jonah’s adventure—with God in the middle, you can’t keep a good man down!!😄 May God pour a special blessing into your hearts next week until you overflow with the joy of the Lord! Bob and Linda
